Job Description

Recruiter / People Partner Talent Community

Type: Remote | Future Opportunities | Talent Pipeline

About This Talent Community

We're building a pipeline of talented recruitment professionals for future opportunities at HFBAC. This isn't an immediate vacancy—it's an invitation to join our community so we can reach out when the right role opens up.
HFBAC (Hiring For and Building Awesome Companies) helps bootstrapped founders and growing companies build teams that actually work. Our Chemistry First methodology prioritises team fit over impressive CVs—because 89% of hiring failures come from chemistry problems, not skill gaps. If you're frustrated by the "CV in, CV out" approach to recruitment, you might love what we're building.

Future Roles Could Include

  • Talent Sourcer: Finding exceptional candidates through creative sourcing strategies, Boolean searches, and relationship building—not just posting job ads
  • Candidate Screening Specialist: Conducting Chemistry First assessments to evaluate team fit, working style compatibility, and cultural alignment
  • Client Delivery Partner: Supporting end-to-end hiring processes for our clients, from brief through to offer acceptance
  • People Partner: Working embedded with growing companies as their fractional talent partner

You Might Be a Great Fit If You

  • Have recruitment experience (agency, in-house, or RPO) - but are frustrated by traditional CV-first approaches
  • Understand that great hiring is about chemistry and fit, not just skills matching
  • Are genuinely curious about what makes teams work (and what makes them fall apart)
  • Can build rapport quickly with candidates and clients via video
  • Are comfortable with Boolean searching and creative sourcing
  • Thrive in remote, async environments with minimal supervision
  • Have strong English communication skills
  • Excited about helping founders build awesome companies

What Makes Us Different

We're not a high-volume recruitment agency chasing numbers. We work with bootstrapped founders and growing companies who can't afford hiring mistakes. Our Chemistry First methodology means we spend more time understanding team dynamics and less time keyword-matching CVs.
If you've ever thought "there has to be a better way to do recruitment," you'll probably like it here.

Working at HFBAC

  • Fully remote with flexible hours (some UK timezone overlap required for client/candidate meetings)
  • Results-focused - we care about outcomes, not hours logged
  • Early-stage environment where your work has real impact
  • Roles typically start part-time with potential to grow
  • Direct access to Helen (founder, 27 years recruitment experience) and genuine opportunities to develop your craft

What Happens Next

When you submit your application, you'll receive a confirmation email. We review submissions regularly and reach out when relevant opportunities arise. There's no obligation on either side—we're simply staying connected.
When we do have an opening, our process includes a 30-45 minute video conversation with Helen, followed by a paid trial period (10-15 hours, $120-180 USD) to ensure we're the right fit for each other.

To Join Our Talent Community

Please complete the application form with a brief overview of your recruitment experience and what you enjoyed (or didn't), what interests you about the Chemistry First approach, and your general availability and timezone. Questions? Email [email protected]

HFBAC (Hiring For and Building Awesome Companies)

Great companies aren't built on impressive CVs/resumes. They're built on chemistry.

Most hiring processes filter for the wrong thing: a polished CV, not whether someone will actually thrive on your specific team, at your specific stage. That's why so many "great on paper" hires don't work out, and why so many founders end up doing all the hiring themselves because they don't trust anyone else to get it right.

I'm Helen Wingrove-Sanders, and I built HFBAC around Chemistry First: hiring for team fit, stage fit, and cultural alignment first, credentials second.

My career started over 25 years ago as the BBC's first female football commentator. Watching teams up close taught me that the strongest sides weren't always the most individually talented, they were the ones where the chemistry ran deepest. I spent the next two decades applying that same insight to hiring.

Today, I work as a Fractional Talent Partner for founders in any niche, bootstrapped or venture-backed, coaching you in real time so you make better hiring decisions than you ever could alone.

In the US, I focus primarily on robotics. In the UK, it's robotics, tech teams, GTM, and marketing hires.

I also build AI-native hiring operating systems tailored to your stage and gaps.

Whether you need one critical hire or an embedded partner through a scaling phase, HFBAC exists so you stop guessing on the decision that matters most.
