Job Description
Founding Nigeria Country Lead — Growth, Partnerships & Community
walllet.com is hiring a hands-on Nigeria Country Lead to build and lead our market expansion from the ground up. walllet.com is a global-income money app for Nigerian freelancers, remote workers, independent professionals and contractors who earn from international clients, companies and platforms. The product helps eligible users receive USD, EUR and GBP, hold their income in dollars, spend online with a dollar card and cash out to their Nigerian bank account with transparent fees and human support.
The Country Lead will own local growth, partnerships, community development and market execution. You will identify and close partnerships with remote-work communities, talent platforms, technology schools, professional networks, coworking spaces, recruiters, small agencies, employers, creators and relevant media. You will also manage local agencies and KOLs, organize webinars and onboarding programs, recruit early users, support referral initiatives and test different distribution channels to determine which ones generate active and returning customers.
This is a zero-to-one operating role, not a traditional corporate management position. You will work directly with the founders, speak regularly with users, help qualified customers through onboarding, collect product feedback, identify trust barriers and turn successful users into credible case studies and advocates. You will maintain a structured partnership pipeline, coordinate local campaigns, report weekly results and help the product, marketing and support teams understand what must change for Nigeria.
Success will not be measured by followers, impressions, event attendance, registrations or app installs. The primary measures are completed onboarding, first meaningful transactions, repeat usage, transaction volume, partner performance and sustainable customer acquisition. The ideal candidate has at least four years of experience in growth, partnerships, business development, community, market expansion or startup operations, with strong knowledge of Nigeria’s fintech, remote-work, talent or technology ecosystem. You should have personally closed partnerships, executed measurable growth programs, worked with limited resources and be comfortable taking full ownership without waiting for a large team or a finished playbook.
Applicants should submit a CV or LinkedIn profile, examples of partnerships or growth initiatives they personally led, five Nigerian organizations or communities they would approach first, a brief plan for their first 30 days, current location, availability and compensation expectations.
